Software Engineer, Abuse Prevention
You will develop software that detects and reduces fraud and abuse while protecting the experience of legitimate users.
About the role
The work combines backend and data engineering, monitoring, investigations, internal tools, incident response, and collaboration with safety operations.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain systems for fraud and abuse detection and remediation.
- Create monitoring, alerts, and internal tools that help teams understand and respond to abuse patterns.
- Investigate incidents and use root-cause analysis to improve longer-term defenses.
- Work with engineering, data, security, product, research, and safety operations partners.
What we're looking for
- Professional software engineering experience with backend services and data systems.
- Experience in fraud, spam, integrity, abuse analysis, investigations, or safety operations.
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL, monitoring, and data analysis tools.
- The ability to respond quickly while protecting system stability and user experience.
Preferred experience
- Experience developing machine learning or rules-based abuse detection systems.
