Yes. Leiolai Standard, Pro, and Plus Ultra each cover up to eight members: the plan owner and seven other people, using their own accounts. Each member can use an unlimited number of devices.

Yes. A Leiolai plan gift is paid once. Choose Leiolai Standard, Pro, or Plus Ultra for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months, then enter the recipient’s email and an optional note. The recipient receives a redemption code by email and the Leiolai gift starts when the code is redeemed. The gift does not auto-renew, the code does not expire, and the recipient needs no card to redeem the plan.

Leiolai’s published US monthly prices are $20 for Standard, $100 for Pro, and $999 for Plus Ultra. All three paid plans can cover up to eight members. Standard adds higher Research limits and a +5% earning boost; Pro provides higher limits and +35%; Plus Ultra provides the highest limits and +500%.

In the Leiolai web app, open Account, More, Leiolai API, Manage keys. Choose Unrestricted, Private only, or Research only access. A new key is shown once. Keep the key secret and send the authentication header required by your chosen API format.

Use Leiolai Private for confidential work and Leiolai Research for non-sensitive tasks. Leiolai API keys can be restricted to one mode, or an unrestricted key can choose a mode per request. The selected mode and thinking effort determine the published input and output token rates.

Leiolai API requests support low, medium, high, and xhigh effort, with low as the default. Use the effort field for your chosen request format. The model ID stays leiolai-1, and the price depends on the mode and effort selected for the request.

Set stream to true on a supported finite Leiolai API request and read server-sent events using the rules for that endpoint. Leiolai Chat Completions, Responses, Messages, and text Completions use different event shapes and completion markers. Append delivered text, handle errors, and keep the endpoint’s terminal signal.

Use the token counts returned with a Leiolai API response when available. Chat Completions reports prompt_tokens, completion_tokens, and total_tokens. For a streamed chat response, request the final usage chunk. Combine the input and output counts with the rate for the request’s mode and effort.

Read the Leiolai response’s HTTP status, error code, and X-Request-Id. A 401 points to authentication, a 402 to balance or budget, and a mode restriction can produce 403. A 400 identifies an invalid request. For a streaming response, continue reading events: an error can arrive after HTTP 200.

Yes. Leiolai supports client-defined functions through Chat Completions, Responses, and Messages. Your application supplies the tool definitions, receives the requested function and arguments, runs the function, and sends the result back to continue the conversation.

Yes. The Leiolai API accepts base64 image inputs through Chat Completions, Responses, and Messages. Send the image data in the format for your endpoint and include a text question explaining what you want Leiolai to examine. Remote image URLs are not accepted as image inputs.
