AI Systems Engineer

About the role

This role focuses on reliability, safety, performance, observability, experimentation, debugging, and reusable engineering tools.

What you'll do

• Develop production systems and shared tools used by machine learning engineers and researchers.
• Create evaluation, experimentation, and debugging tools that separate model problems from software problems.
• Improve observability, profiling, diagnostics, reliability, and performance.
• Use evidence from difficult failures to develop practical, durable fixes.

What we're looking for

• Experience developing or operating production infrastructure, distributed systems, developer tools, or machine learning systems.
• Experience debugging across software, infrastructure, model behavior, and user outcomes.
• Strong judgment about reliability, safety, performance, debuggability, and clean interfaces.
• The ability to write production code while coordinating technical work across teams.

Preferred experience

• Experience with systems programming, runtimes, evaluation systems, or performance engineering.
