Backend Engineer

About the role

The role covers service design, implementation, testing, observability, performance, reliability, security, and production support.

What you'll do

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data models for product features.
• Develop tests, monitoring, and operational safeguards for production changes.
• Diagnose reliability, performance, and correctness issues and address their causes.
• Collaborate with product, design, frontend, data, and security partners.

What we're looking for

• Experience developing and operating production backend software.
• Strong programming, API design, data modeling, and debugging skills.
• Experience with testing, monitoring, reliability, security, and performance work.
• The ability to scope ambiguous product problems and deliver maintainable solutions.

Preferred experience

• Experience with high-traffic APIs, asynchronous workflows, or complex product backends.
