Build Systems Engineer

About the role

The role covers build rules, toolchains, dependencies, test selection, continuous integration, reproducibility, performance, diagnostics, and developer support.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain reproducible build, test, and continuous-integration workflows.
• Improve build time, test selection, retry behavior, failure isolation, and local diagnostics.
• Instrument build workflows with useful metrics, logs, dashboards, and failure explanations.
• Work directly with engineering teams to resolve recurring build and test bottlenecks.

What we're looking for

• Experience with build systems, continuous-integration pipelines, or developer tooling.
• Strong programming and debugging skills across more than one language or toolchain.
• Experience improving build performance, reliability, reproducibility, and test quality.
• Empathy for engineers using the workflows and tools you maintain.

Preferred experience

• Experience with monorepos, remote execution, package management, or containerized build environments.
