Client Performance Engineer

About the role

This role focuses on profiling, instrumentation, benchmarking, root-cause analysis, and measurable performance improvements.

What you'll do

• Profile application behavior and identify the causes of important performance problems.
• Develop tools and metrics that make client performance visible and comparable over time.
• Lead investigations into performance regressions and verify fixes with repeatable measurements.
• Define performance tests and practical targets for responsiveness and resource use.
• Work with client engineers to make performance a deliberate part of design and implementation decisions.

What we're looking for

• Software engineering experience focused on application performance or reliability.
• Comfort with profiling, tracing, benchmarking, and performance instrumentation.
• Knowledge of operating-system behavior, scheduling, memory management, and input and output patterns.
• Experience turning ambiguous performance reports into measured, reproducible problems.
• Clear communication about measurements, tradeoffs, and results.

Preferred experience

• Experience developing performance tooling for mobile or desktop applications.
• Experience maintaining benchmarks or performance regression tests.
