Database Reliability Engineer
You will improve the reliability, performance, correctness, and operability of production database systems.
About the role
The role covers database design, performance analysis, migrations, data movement, monitoring, incident response, recovery, and developer tooling.
What you'll do
- Design and operate database and storage solutions for production workloads.
- Diagnose performance, correctness, availability, and capacity problems.
- Develop safe migration, backfill, recovery, and data-movement workflows.
- Create tools and standards that help engineers use databases safely and efficiently.
What we're looking for
- Experience developing or operating production database or storage systems.
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational or distributed database behavior.
- Experience with performance analysis, migrations, reliability, and incident response.
- Rigorous judgment about data correctness, failure recovery, and operational risk.
Preferred experience
- Experience leading complex database growth, consolidation, or migration projects.
