Interpretability Researcher

About the role

The role combines research planning, robust experiments, model analysis, research tools, and clear communication of results.

What you'll do

• Develop research methods for studying learned representations and model behavior.
• Design and run robust experiments in small settings and larger models.
• Create tools for running experiments, analyzing results, and visualizing findings.
• Communicate results and collaborate with researchers and engineers on useful applications.

What we're looking for

• A strong record of empirical research in machine learning or a related quantitative field.
• Experience with interpretability, model analysis, or closely related research.
• Strong Python, engineering, and quantitative-reasoning skills.
• The ability to form testable hypotheses and explain evidence precisely.

Preferred experience

• Published or public work on interpretability, model behavior, or machine learning safety.
