You will develop and test methods for understanding how machine learning models produce behavior.
About the role
The role combines research planning, robust experiments, model analysis, research tools, and clear communication of results.
What you'll do
- Develop research methods for studying learned representations and model behavior.
- Design and run robust experiments in small settings and larger models.
- Create tools for running experiments, analyzing results, and visualizing findings.
- Communicate results and collaborate with researchers and engineers on useful applications.
What we're looking for
- A strong record of empirical research in machine learning or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with interpretability, model analysis, or closely related research.
- Strong Python, engineering, and quantitative-reasoning skills.
- The ability to form testable hypotheses and explain evidence precisely.
Preferred experience
- Published or public work on interpretability, model behavior, or machine learning safety.
