ML Systems Engineer

About the role

The work focuses on code quality, reliability, maintainability, debugging, and practical tools that help researchers and engineers move faster.

What you'll do

• Review and improve code in machine learning frameworks and adjacent tools.
• Identify risky changes and improve code quality without slowing useful work.
• Debug broken workflows, unreliable tools, and difficult failures in machine learning systems.
• Improve the reliability, maintainability, and usability of shared machine learning software.

What we're looking for

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and careful code-review judgment.
• Experience with machine learning systems, training frameworks, distributed systems, or related infrastructure.
• The ability to read unfamiliar code and find root causes quickly.
• Practical judgment about when to improve an abstraction and when to fix the immediate problem.

Preferred experience

• Experience improving a fast-moving machine learning codebase.
