Model Behavior Researcher

About the role

The work combines product-focused research, robust evaluations, training experiments, error analysis, and close partnership with engineers.

What you'll do

• Form research questions about model behavior and turn them into measurable experiments.
• Develop evaluations that reveal behavioral strengths, failures, and tradeoffs.
• Test training methods and analyze whether they improve behavior under real product constraints.
• Work with researchers and engineers to move reliable findings into product development.

What we're looking for

• Machine learning research experience and strong engineering judgment.
• Experience developing model evaluations or training methods.
• The ability to debug large machine learning codebases and analyze experimental results.
• A record of practical research under changing technical constraints.

Preferred experience

• Experience with reinforcement learning, reward modeling, post-training, or synthetic data.
