Product Counsel
You will help product and engineering teams make practical legal decisions throughout product development and launch.
About the role
The role includes product advice, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, intellectual property, content rules, product terms, launch readiness, partnerships, and emerging law.
What you'll do
- Advise product and engineering teams from early design through launch and ongoing operation.
- Identify legal and regulatory issues and give clear, practical options for addressing them.
- Partner with privacy, security, policy, commercial, and business teams on product decisions and commitments.
- Track relevant laws and develop repeatable processes for product legal review.
What we're looking for
- A JD or equivalent legal qualification and authorization to practice in an applicable jurisdiction.
- Experience providing product legal advice at a technology company or technology-focused law firm.
- Knowledge of several relevant areas such as privacy, consumer protection, intellectual property, content, or advertising law.
- Strong judgment and the ability to explain complex legal issues in concise business terms.
Preferred experience
- Experience advising software, platform, enterprise, or developer-facing products.
