Product Safety Engineer
You will develop product safeguards and help teams respond to new abuse patterns.
About the role
The work covers safety tools, production software, evaluation, monitoring, threat analysis, and collaboration across product, engineering, research, and policy.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain production safeguards for important product risks.
- Create tests and monitoring that show whether safeguards remain effective.
- Investigate new abuse patterns and develop practical mitigations.
- Work with product, research, policy, and operations partners before and after release.
What we're looking for
- Professional software engineering experience in a safety, integrity, security, or abuse-prevention area.
- Experience developing reliable production software and data-processing workflows.
- Experience evaluating safety systems and responding to adversarial behavior.
- Clear judgment about user safety, product quality, and engineering tradeoffs.
Preferred experience
- Experience with machine learning systems used for detection or policy enforcement.
