Gemini 4 Argon vs Leiolai 1

Gemini 4 Argon is now available through Google’s API, with introductory pricing of $2 input and $10 output per million tokens. Leiolai 1’s Research API starts at $0.01 input and $0.02 output.

Google opened Gemini 4 Argon to developers on October 13, 2026, following the model’s limited September announcement. You can now use Argon through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.

Leiolai 1 runs inference across iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Android devices, and PCs. Leiolai is an intelligence that runs on consumer hardware and pays users for the computation they provide.

What is Gemini 4 Argon?

Gemini 4 Argon is Google’s new flagship reasoning model for difficult coding, mathematical, scientific, and agent tasks. Argon offers three thinking levels: low, medium, and high, with medium selected by default.

Argon accepts text, images, video, audio, and PDFs, and returns text. Google’s tools include search grounding, code execution, file search, and preview computer use.

Gemini 4 Argon vs Leiolai 1 context windows

Argon has a 1,048,576-token window shared by input, thinking, and output. Leiolai 1 has an experimental context window of up to 11 million tokens.

Context window · linear scale
Gemini 4 Argon1,048,576
Leiolai 1 Experimental11,000,000

Argon’s long decode can continue past the default 65,536-token output limit using background requests. The total still has to fit within that same million-token window. A larger input leaves less room for thinking and the answer.

Leiolai’s larger context window gives you room for more source material, a longer conversation, or a larger codebase. In experimental infinite generation, Leiolai has no response output limit. A response can continue for as long as the task requires.

How much do Gemini 4 Argon and Leiolai 1 cost?

Argon’s introductory API rates are $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through November 30, 2026. From December 1, those rates become $4 input and $20 output. Thinking tokens are billed at the output rate.

Leiolai 1’s Research launch pricing starts at $0.01 input and $0.02 output per million tokens at low thinking depth. Medium costs $0.25 input and $0.65 output; high costs $6.40 input and $21 output.

API prices · USD per million tokens
Model and settingInputOutput
Gemini 4 Argon Through November 30, 2026$2$10
Gemini 4 Argon From December 1, 2026$4$20
Leiolai 1 · Research low Launch pricing$0.01$0.02
Leiolai 1 · Research medium Launch pricing$0.25$0.65
Leiolai 1 · Research high Launch pricing$6.40$21
Leiolai 1 · Plus Ultra$160$700

Argon’s cached input costs $0.10 per million tokens during the introductory period and $0.20 afterward. Google also offers separate batch, flex, and priority rates. Leiolai has a separate Private price schedule; Plus Ultra costs $160 input and $700 output in both Research and Private.

Can you use Gemini 4 Argon for free?

Gemini 4 Argon is not available on Google’s Free tier or Google AI Pro. Paid API access is separate from a Gemini app subscription.

Leiolai Free includes Leiolai 1, our most capable model, and Plus Ultra, our highest thinking depth. The Leiolai app is free and no card is required. Leveling up your chip system to Silicon unlocks our highest tier of intelligence at no added cost to you.

Paid Leiolai memberships increase usage limits and add earning bonuses. They are not required to choose Plus Ultra thinking or reach Silicon. Leiolai API usage is billed separately from app membership.

How does Leiolai use consumer devices?

You can earn with Leiolai on your phone or PC by contributing computation through the app. Background earning lets your devices contribute while you use other apps. On iPhone and iPad, Turbo earning is available while plugged in.

Leiolai gives users a way to help provide intelligence and earn from that contribution. You can use Leiolai in the app or connect your software to the Leiolai API.

Which should you use?

Argon brings Google’s new reasoning model, multimodal inputs, search tools, and long-running agents into the Gemini developer tools. Leiolai offers experimental long context and infinite generation, a Free plan with our most capable model and highest thinking depth, and earning through the app.
